According to a DIA memorandum, Ferber proposes to develop Smith Parcel 1 on Riverside and May, the May Street right-of-way and the Jug Handle with multi-tenant inline retail commercial uses, adjacent to Brooklyn Station. The proposed tenants will be national, regional and experienced local operators consistent with the existing Brooklyn Station tenant mix.

The Jug Handle parcel was part of a 2016 redevelopment plan for a pharmacy/drugstore, but the end user rejected the location and currently remains uninterested, according to Ferber.

Wait, Brooklyn residents rejected the location?

In what way?

The end user was the pharmacy the site would have been developed for. Not the consumers.

Sleiman needs to get in his "running the Landing like a shopping center mode" and get a few places like CVS/Walgreens to fill up some space before they find another location in or near downtown.

Am I correct in understanding that since the drug store pulled out and is uninterested, for an undetermined time, that property will be surface paved and/or gravel parking lots? Same tired story.

No. There are plans to build more retail on this site now.
