Why Buy Locally Owned?  Here are the top ten reasons, according to Sustainable Connections and Think Local, two Seattle-based non profit orgaizations created with the goal of enhancing the livability, stability and diversity of their community and the local economy.

This is a really great article.  Too bad many suburban communities don't have the luxury of a grouping of local buisnesses similar to that of 5-Points and San Marco.

That really depends on how suburban you get Jason, out here where I am at, you have a lot of locally owned.

(shameless plug in 3...2....1) Every Ace Hardware is locally owned also  ;D

I'm a fan of Ace and shop there quite often.  Also, luckily for me, I'm about 5 minutes from St. Augustine's historic distric and a plethora of locally owned and operated buisnesses.
