Brand New is coming the Friday of FL-GA. That is a massive get for Jax. Only 11 cities on the tour after their number 1 album.

Must say, it's nice that there's finally one show I'd pay to see.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

^Deja Entendu was a nearly perfect album.

Haven't been able to get into much of their newer stuff.

Yup, and that was 14 years ago now. Good effort, though, Daily's Place.

"I see what the symphony is doing. What are the Jaguars doing? Serving refreshments?"

Providing the venue?   This place is unique and there was nothing like it before, by that I mean a state of the art outdoor covered  venue.

I hope lots of you will be there to see what is possible when the NFL partners with the cities largest not for profit Cultural Arts Organization

to provide an event for all Jacksonville to enjoy.

Silly me - I thought the City of Jacksonville owned Daily's Place.

That will sell out fast. Their new album reached number 1 on the billboard 200 chart. They already have a rabid following, so yeah, good job Daily's Place booking a solid show during a huge event.  :P

FYI:  Harry Potter Live in Concert turned out huge for the Symphony. About 4400 attendees. Incredibly enthusiastic and appreciative audience.   Not sure if they will return to Daily's Place but the In Concert Movie Series returns to Jacoby Symphony Hall for 2 more pics with fun soundtracks.

"Home Alone"  on November 25.

Followed by "It's a Wonderful Life" on Dec 22.

"Raiders of the Lost Ark"  in February 16, 17.

Great to hear! I wish I could have gone. I'll try to make it out to Raiders of the Lost Ark.

A little strange that there was that big wave of early concerts announced, and beyond that, it's been pretty quiet.

There are no concerts at all officially announced beyond the end of this month.

What gives?

Echoing the weirdness that there's nothing officially scheduled at Daily's Place for the next five months.

Next announced show is April 20th.

I understand winter is slow for outdoor venues, but nothing on the books at all for the next 20 weeks???

Perhaps renovations? Building in all the things they promised but didn't get around to? Like the video screens?

Not sure who is booking shows there but everyone else promoting concerts in Jax is pretty busy. Florida Theater keeps announcing new stuff and the Symphony has their entire line up booked a year in advance.

I'm personally hoping the Symphony will return to Daily's Place with a monster classical double header of Carl Orff's "CARMINA BURANA"

And BEETHOVEN'S NINTH SYMPHONY.  This would be a first ever for the Symphony, but makes sense as each piece employ's a full chorus

and several vocal soloists.

You don't mind taking your bass out in that humidity, MM? Do you use a backup instrument?

I don't think the humidity would bother it, but you can't keep it out of the tank for too long - no matter how moist the air, a fish still can't breathe in it!

I do have a 'second bass',  a modern instrument.  My nice one is about 200 years old (guesstimate) and it can handle it for a while.

But it does swell up as it drinks in the moisture and is a bit harder to play.  The new one does the same I just lower the strings (adjustable bridge) if needed.  I definitely avoid long term exposure to any extremes in temp or humidity for both.

Once traveled from Tampa to Minneapolis (in December) on tour and it literally caused a massive crack right up the middle of that instrument (going into the sudden extremes of single digit humidity....). I was in shock for a while............

For Harry Potter it was actually pretty pleasant at Daily's,  so would want to schedule this show prior to April if possible.
