What's with the seeming rush in Gainesville to name Luke Del Rio the starting quarterback?

They like him because he is more mature mentally and it has had an impact in the locker room.

His demerits is his on field decisioning and mobility.

He barely made 3rd string at Alabama when they had 3 QB's on the practice squad and had to clean up the roster. Lane Kiffin told him to move on when he took over at OC at Bama.  Kiffin saw his practice tapes and didnt want him. He couldnt win the starter role at Oregon State as a junior and now is in his 3rd system in 4 years of college play.

He didnt do all that well in high school and transferred from Bolles to Episcopal for a reason. His high school senior year he was the QB at Denver Victory Christian, which did win a state title, but that team was stacked with talent on both sides of the ball.

So I am not surprised by the gush then retraction by the Florida coaches. He brings some leadership, but it seems not ss much talent as others.
