Josh Scobee Gets Real About Time with Jags

The life of a kicker seems like the easiest of any player in the NFL. Hearing what former Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had to say about his lifestyle, changed my entire mindset.

Basically Scobee says exactly what most athletes already know.....that performance on the field is driven by your mental abilities, not just your physical.

The rip on Jags coaching with regards to the treatment of Bryan Anger is not too far off the mark.

The criticism of every OC forcing a system that doesn't play to the on field talent has been a common refrain of the Jags in the Khan era.

It's great if some OC has mastered the ways and means of Bill Walsh, but if your on field talent can't play to it, then you gotta adjust because you can't change all of your personnel in a snap.

In summary, call the plays that leverage your on field talent, not to some offensive dogma created at Stanford in 1978.

Josh Scobee was cut by the New Orleans Saints yesterday.

Expected to compete in camp against incumbent Kai Forbath, he was brought in back in March but didnt make it to camp.

Scobee said "Anger will be the highest paid punter in the NFL.  Mark my words."

Trying to mark them, but Anger got a contract with TB to be come in 17th place for punter salary rankings.  http://overthecap.com/position/punter/  Apparently the rest of the NFL disagrees.

It's a 1 year prove it deal.  Anger may very well be the highest paid punter in the league next year or he may not be.  Can't judge on this current contract.

That being said, Jags needed to move on anyways.  Wasn't worth the historical baggage.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.
