They needed the upgrade. That ER is tiny.

It is just amazing to see how well the hospital is doing to only after 2 years of opening, need a major expansion. They have a few positions open there for administration, and I'm applying to them. I would LOVE to work in that hospital.

Charleston, what's your timeline for relocating to Jax?

We want to do it within 1-2 years, but I would really prefer 6 months. My current job just wasn't what I was looking for (duties and salary), we want to move from Cola, and we want to get closer to the coast. While I'm submitting resumes and applications to Jax healthcare organizations, I'm also submitting to others in the Southeast region, mainly NC, SC, and GA...unfortunately, with the limited experience I have, it's hard to find the exact job you want in the exact location. I'm only hoping that someone in the Jax community sees my prior military experience and other healthcare jobs as a plus to consider me over other applicants. It is so competitive.

Don't forget OP Medical Center's rumors or building a new hospital in Green Cover Springs.

Hang in there Charleston, you'll get your ticket home.  With all of the local hospital expansions you are sure to find something to suit your families needs.  Then all you'll need to do is make up your mind on where in Jax you want to live.  Now THAT'S the hard part!  :)

Who was the architect and general contractor?  Anybody know how much this costs?

Jason, Orange Park isn't doing the new Clay hospital. St. Vincent's was awarded the certificate of need from the state to build that. Orange Park was initially awarded that but appeals and lawyers and arguments changed all of that in favor of St. Vincent's.

Here you go:

Baptist Medical Center South at 14550 Old St. Augustine Road (No. 1), is building an eight-story, 222,636-square-foot addition that will cost $55 million, according to its building permit. The contractor on the project is The Haskell Co. and the architect is Gresham Smith & Partners.
