I did notice the new place yesterday when checking out Black panther at SUNRAY Cinemas.  I'm excited to try it.

There was a fantastic Travel and Food show on WJCT a month back and the travel guy toured Japan with a Japanese chef born in Japan but currently working in NYC. He was an expert in the various cuisines of Japan so of course they went to his favorite ramen place. Japanese approach food (in this case Ramen) with a religious devotion. It was really fascinating. On the other end of the spectrum, I also noticed the new Wendy's is Now Open.  What a f&6king disaster that place is. It has to be the worst run restaurant I can remember . Obviously using the term 'restaurant' loosely. And nothing personal, but Five Points on a Sunday afternoon was kind of depressing. It's dirty, there were homeless folks diving though trash cans, a lot of cigarette smoking and drinking to excess. Just not my scene anymore (guess I'm an Old fart now at 54). Had my 11 y.o. son with me. There was not much to get us to stay and spend any more money, except food, and we had plans at home.  Don't know of any other place in town with the density of drinking establishments as 5 Points.

^If you've got Netflix, check out the episode of Chef's Table on Ivan Orkin.

Sounds very similar.

I loved it, I think you would too.

I went yesterday. No wait, immediately seated (6 pm).  I had gyoza which I liked, nice 'crust' and fresh garlicky pork mixture inside.

Had the spicy ramen. Tasty. Nice heat (spice wise).  Will go again.  Really enjoyed the Japanese beer on tap too.
