Great photos thanks for sharing. I also remember a late Friend of mine William "Bill" Elsner who photographed a lot of Jacksonville Florida along with his late Father. Bill died in 2009 I was a neighbor of his growing up in Orange Park and in the 1970's Bill took photos of my Family. When I befriended him again in 2007 or so. I suggested to him that he should donate to the Jacksonville Historical Society. Instead of selling or giving away his great collection of photographic works. :)

So what happened to Bill's photos?  Quite a story with no good ending!

Bill's photos could have ended up at a local business here in Jacksonville Florida but I told Bill to have his work donated. I lost touch with Bill Elsner after my own Dad had a stroke and died in 2008. Bill once told me he would give me his photos. I really wasn't the one that should have gotten them. I hope the "Jacksonville Historical Society" knows what to do with them.  :-\

these are fantastic… It will be interesting to see what Jacksonville looks like 20 years from now as it transitions from an industrial to a digital economy. I hope that much of the empty office space will soon be occupied and old buildings reclaimed by restaurants, shops, and entrepreneurs. with the right tax incentives, I would like to believe it is possible.
