It would be nice if some of these projects increased their landscaping budgets.

Stuff like this is why I left the Beaches for good:

There appears to be no understanding of what made the community an attractive place to live to begin with. Seafoam paint doesn't make up for a lack of a damn front door.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Great update as usual. But I'm curious on what the status of the oceanfront lots on 6th Ave N and 2nd Ave S. I believe are owned by the same real estate investment group and you'd think there would be an incredible amount of demand. Hope they would try to get Jax Beach new construction height restrictions waived.

Those lots may be ones grandfathered in. The group that purchased the Bellinger Shipyards owns two sites in that general area. They plan to build high rises on them.

The gate gas station on the southwest corner of Beach Blvd and Third Street is being demolished, and there's fencing around the lot on the other side of Third Street from that.  Anyone know what's being built there?

My inside sources say Jurassic World . . . I could have been misinformed though.

I heard over the weekend that Hawkers is building a 2 story location at the beach.  This person has never known about anything being built before me, so I need someone to confirm or deny.  Anyone here privy to that info??

^Hawkers is in discussions to be a tenant in a project, but last I heard, terms aren't finalized.

Thanks.  They seem to be pretty quick to announce things on social media, but nothing has been mentioned about Jax beach.  They recently announced that St Pete would be the location of their third restaurant.

It appears that the old gas station site at 3rd & Beach could become a new Burrito Gallery location.

The site across from third was initially going to be a luxury hotel.  I can't remember if it complied with the height restrictions and fizzled in the real estate collapse, or if it was made impossible by the height limit.

I also heard the same thing about Burrito Gallery at 3rd and Beach.  That's a very high profile site, so I hope whatever goes there uses the space well and has a pedestrian friendly design.

Nippers has filed for bankruptcy.

Hopefully they're able to sell. It would be a damn shame to lose Nippers.
