Badly titled thread as it's city vs city. The title should have been along to lines of the 'Learning from' series. Fill in the blank international tourist city vs Jax will of course bring out the typical sarcastic responses, gotta love that...
As a longtime poster I-10, I think you'll find that I'm one of the least sarcastic (and most blindly pro-JAX) people here. I wasn't being sarcastic when I said "you just can't compare the two"...that's me being straight faced honest.
I do agree it should be titled "LEARNING FROM" again, as that's the ONLY feasible way to deal with an Apples vs. Oranges issue.
As someone who travels often (10 new countries per year and hundreds of new cities), I can say, with a straight face, that I learn from EVERY city I visit. Not only do I learn from them, but I come home thinking "this could work in JAX" or "that couldn't work in JAX." It's one of the best parts of traveling (and one of the best parts of being a JAX resident!!! FWIW, I like living in a city that can learn from another city...and I like living in a city that requires vast improvement. As I tell my out-of-town friends, "who wants to live in a city that already has it's shit together!?").
