APA Florida Conference Headed To Downtown Jacksonville

Jacksonville always seems to be moving forward, whether it is through reconstruction, redevelopment, or all together, creating something brand new. An important part of these processes though, is the vision and the planning that goes in to them. So why not get people together, right here, who love to talk about this sort of thing?

Unlike many conferences, this one will hopefully be all about getting attendees outside the hotel.

As the article mentions, we are encouraging folks to check out Art Walk (Ennis will give an overview tour) on the opening night. Then on Friday evening, there will be food trucks parked along the riverwalk near the Landing (open to anyone).  And finally, Community First Saturday and Riverside Arts Market are great ways to close out the conference experience.

We also have 9 mobile workshops that cover much of the First Coast from Fernandina Beach down to St. Augustine.  And there will be an in-depth workshop on the JTA Skyway and how it can be better integrated into future urban core development.

Thanks for the press release!  The conference has over 600 people registered, 70 sessions, and 10 mobile tours.  Including other speakers and volunteers, there will be close to 750 attendees.

Note that if you're interested in attending, on-site registration is possible.  Pre-conference workshops are on Wednesday with the main program Thursday - Saturday.  Single day registration for any of those 3 days is available, as well as full registration.

By chance, would there happen to be a breakout session during the conference titled "What to do with the Jacksonville Landing?"

There was a few years ago.  This year, there's a workshop on the Skyway.

Here's what came out of the APA's Jacksonville Landing 2009 charrette:
