my concern is that we will be diluting things too much....with RAM, the Landing, and hopefully regular programming at Hemming Plaza, how will Unity Plaza fit in?

Unity Plaza will become a destination unto itself because it will be surrounded by a dense mix of uses and living units. Hemming and the Landing's future will depend on our ability to do something with them.  If we continue to ignore them, they'll decline regardless of what takes place in Brooklyn.

How will the apartments in the complex deal with the noise from the Plaza.It is , however, a wonderful idea.

^Presumably the people who move in there will be aware of the plaza. Not everyone wants to live in isolation.

^Pretty much.  The activity in the plaza will be a draw to many people who end up leasing units, in the same manner staying next door to a transit station is viewed as a plus for TOD residents.

The "Design Team" is only mentioned in the abstract.  They deserve credit.  Anybody know who is on the design team?
