A Streetcar for Downtown Fort Lauderdale

They are so late to the game. How are they just now getting a streetcar?

They finally decided to pay for one. By 2016, the could have streetcar, a second commuter rail line, and "high speed rail" all operating through their downtown.

Don't worry, in 33 years Jacksonville hasn't even figured out that there IS a game.
Lake, I wouldn't say HSR, in spite of the media that constantly calls AAF, HSR, it isn't. The best one could get away with might be to call it HrSR with conventional trains.
Where's our streetcar?

^That's why I said "HSR" instead of HSR. However, that average person in Florida won't really know the difference.

Wish Jax could get this!
And I thought Gov. Scott took HSR away from Florida when he refused that $2B a year or two ago? Isn't AAF going to more like a local Amtrak?

AAF will be much faster than Amtrak. Trains will travel up to 125 mph. It's basically a conventional (and significantly cheaper) version of the old HSR segment between Orlando and Miami. Currently, a trip on Amtrak between Orlando and Miami takes anywhere from five to seven hours. AAF will cut that travel time down to three hours with frequencies closer to every hour as opposed to twice a day.

Okay, I see now. Every thing I read about AAF I like, hope they succeed so they can expand to Jax soon.
