wow, its amazing how one minute they're building a new building and the next there extending a lease, or moving. There needs to be more due diligence before Councilman Yarborough starts throwing bills around.

Sigh. So it's either hope the Yates can be made sufficient or waste everyone's money with a long-term lease at Gateway. Just great.

I guess the solutions that were on MJ were a no go.  Always a way to spend more money.

I think it is cool that MJ was cited in one of the footnotes.
Since this appeared, Southgate Plaza is offering the old Traffic Court site on Beach Boulevard.

How did I miss this...seems Jerry Holland backed off the Imeson site...and once again Corinne Brown delivered!

Not so sure it was Corrine Brown per se as much as it was the lawsuits being brought against them. Perhaps in attempting to make the move to One Imeson some laws were inadvertently (bc COJ would never intentionally violate) skipped over? I would be interested to hear the opinions of those in tune with the politics and recent posturing of the involved politicians of that area (Cheshire Cat???).

I'm not sure this prevents the Imeson move...I thought this was just done to keep early voting there?

City of Jacksonville has reached a tentative agreement with Terranova to extend the Tax Collector’s branch office lease at Gateway Town Center. The agreement will enable the Tax Collector to consolidate his operations while also allowing the Supervisor of Elections to designate Gateway as an early voting location.

^ that was I thought until I realized they were moving operations to Yates Bldg DT. With all the space at One Imeson they def have room for everything there so I assume that plan has been scrapped.

The warehouse operations have been moved to One Imeson.

Read the press release more carefully.  To settle the lawsuits and appease the parties, the City will continue to pay the lease at Gateway and use the space for a small branch and the abundant vacant space for "community support."

So, now, we will be paying for two locations and there is no indication the landlord at Gateway is moving to make the repairs which of course necessitated the move to One Imeson.

I wish I had seen this before breakfast because this kind of news turns my stomach.

So much for getting a good deal for taxpayers.  Guess that was too much to hope for.  :-(
