Eagerly awaiting next years crop of articles!
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Between Jax 2025, a new director at JTA and the DIA's CRA plan, 2013 will be a very important year.  Expect us to engulf ourselves into the discussion.  I'm considering writing another book as well.  I'm still considering themes but I'm leaning to something that highlights unique nationally prominent events and things (Ponzi scheming in Jax, Life in the Ward Street Red Light District, Ashley Street, Silent Film Industry, Jax cuisine, etc.) in Jax's past that have been largely overlooked by time.

No surprise that there's so many construction updates on this list, I always look forward to those each month.

^Yes, they are very popular.  In 2013, we'll be looking to increase the amount of focus given to construction projects.

Silent Film Industry gets my vote. Biggest little known part of Jacksonville history, after the Great Fire.

There is already a book about the silent film industry in Jax.  I have a copy of it in my library.

Would be very cool to write a brief history of a few of the famous or infamous gun slingers of the old west from our area. John Wesley Harding (owned a butcher shop downtown, and was protected from bounty hunters by our sheriff) and Doc Holliday.  The history books are not clear on who was the deadliest gunman of all time, but most suggest Harding or Holliday and we've got em both.  One could also toss in prohibition era notables, The Barker Gang, Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly.

I like the pressure we put on city hall and DTRB about Hemming and the Parador parking garage even if they haven't been decided in Jacksonville's favor.

Sounds like a good project for you Ock  ;D. I was not aware of Doc's connection to Jacksonville. I knew he was from Georgia and as close as Valdosta. Do you have some links you could point me to?

You know....sometimes I almost hate Metro Jacksonville!  Yep....everytime I read it, it reminds me how pathetic most of our local media is--and how negative! It's so obvious that you put huge amounts of time, effort, and positive love of Jacksonville and its potential into each day's product.  You rock!!!
