Jacksonville City Hall Celebrates 100th Anniversary



Now occupied by Jacksonville City Hall, one of the city's most revered architectural masterpieces, the St. James Building, celebrates its century old anniversary of its opening as Cohen Brothers Department Store.  A special anniversary exhibit and program by Dr. Wayne Wood, City Council President Bill Bishop, greeting by Mayor Alvin Brown, and Cohen Brother's book signing by Ennis Davis and Sarah Gojekian are highlights of this evening.

Jacksonville should celebrate that this building is still with us!  We've lost so much of downtown...the transformation of Cohen's into City Hall is one of the right moves the city has made.

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
