Is this venture supported by a grant of some kind?  Sounds like a cool idea.  There is (or was) something similar at 3rd & Main in Springfield.

This seems like a really great idea. Hopefully people take advantage of it and it would be cool to see it turn into an incubator for some local startup companies.

Hold on there!  From these pictures, this looks way way too expensive for a startup incubator or even most types of bootstrap entrepreneurship (unless there is a generous donor somewhere).  All that furniture and glass doors do not look cheap.  Is this more for home businesses to have a place to hang out other than the house?

I think you can see from their website that Perdue Interiors (downstairs in same building) is a sponsor.

When I'm working I want privacy, and some peace and quiet. Neat concept I suppose, but practically I'd wonder.

This is very good for downtown.  This is an example of a 21st century concept that I believe will become more widespread and will be part of a pivot in how many people work.  Great to have one and great to have it downtown in a historic building.  Jax should also attempt to attract marketing/PR/media/design firms downtown.  They use similar space and are what I would consider another 21st century growth industry.

And one way to ensure that your crumbling warehouses are renovated is not to just rely on the potential that there are enough folks in Jax wanting to spend $400K + for a loft condo, but to fuel some of these small 21st century style businesses that use loft office space.
