Lol… apparently sheesh. The apathy is overwhelming…

Go team?  Or just go…
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

As a Dolphins fan, I'm happy to see Florida's second best NFL team having a winning season!

Haha.  Well it's also Friday. Checking the message boards usually isn't high on the list but sometimes the Jaxson just sucks ya back in. Here's to being free on Sunday!

I honestly wouldn't read it as apathy.

The internet has just become incredibly fragmented.

This site is the single best place on the internet to discuss the business aspects of the Jaguars, their development deals, stadium negotiations, etc.

There's never been more local, online discussion of the Jags from a football perspective as well, it's just taking place in spaces like r/Jaguars, Jags Twitter, FB groups, Discord, etc. these days.

That second half last night nearly took a year off my life.

Love this Jags team, from top to bottom.

I, for one, was just happy that the 19 day gauntlet was over and needed time to gather myself. 4 wins in a row over some formidable opponents is amazing.  There is still a lot to work on in terms of decision making and playing a full 60 minute game, but I'll take a 5-2 team with some things to work on any day!  I'm also sort of in disbelief since we haven't been in this position for my entire adult life.  I bought tickets for the first time in 2020 and have been a season ticket holder ever since.  I've never had a season like this, so I'm just basking in the teal glow.  DUUUVAL

After the Jaguars solid win against the Steelers this Sunday there is one burning question we should have an answer to today or tomorrow: Have the Jaguars done enough to get their upcoming home game against the once unbeatable 49ers flexed to a Sunday night nationally televised game?

I've heard some argue to keep the game early because of the natural disadvantage West coast teams have playing 10 AM their time, but this  time shift is way more valuable than any strategic gamesmanship or fan inconvenience this would create. Not giving us this showcase and possibly opening the door to have our week 15 scheduled prime time matchup to the Ravens kicked to the curb would validate the old negative narratives about the team; that Jacksonville is a small and unsexy market with a fickle fair weathered fanbase run buy an owner frustrated as hell that he can't move the team permanently to England and deserving of the fact that they have never been given a regular season marquee showcase since the days when scripted television shows were still kicking the ass of prime time football.

The fanbase has proven time and again how wrong all the doubters were but I would love for the NFL to help put these talking post to permanent rest by bumping off the regularly scheduled Sunday night matchup between two highly underachieving "legacy" franchises and giving theJaguars and the city of Jacksonville this opportunity because it's well earned and well deserved.

Honestly I'm good with the kickoff at 10AM Pacific Time!

Yeah, but keep in mind that early morning disadvantage gets negated when the West coast team has a bye week which the Niners have. I'd rather have those extra hours to have Jaguar fans get more pumped to show up and show out.

Unfortunately, even if the league did want the flex the game, they couldn't. Per league and television contracts, the max number of times each team can appear on primetime each year is five. The 49ers have already appeared in three primetime games so far this year, and they've got two more on the schedule for Thanksgiving and Christmas night, respectively. Unless the league had a way to flex San Fran out of those holiday games, which seems highly unlikely, I believe their hands are tied.

- Week 3: Giants @ 49ers -- Thursday, Sept. 21 (Thursday Night Football)
- Week 5: Cowboys @ 49ers -- Sunday, Oct. 8 (Sunday Night Football)
- Week 7: 49ers @ Vikings -- Monday, Oct. 23 (Monday Night Football)
- Week 12: 49ers @ Seahawks -- Thursday, Nov. 23 (Thursday Night Football, Thanksgiving)
- Week 16: Ravens @ 49ers -- Monday, Dec. 25 (Monday Night Football, Christmas Day)

Unsurprisingly, four Super Bowl hopefuls were given the league-maximum six prime-time games in 2023: the Chiefs, Chargers, Bills and Cowboys.

The max was increased to 6 at some point.  Many teams this year have 6 primetime games.

^You're right, it looks like they changed it this year.

Some conflicting info out there, but apparently the max can even technically even be 7, if the 7th game is a late-season flex.

Please don't tell the 50 people that I've confidently given the five-game max stat too over the last few days  ;D

Happy Early Thanksgiving America! In our never-ending quest to subvert the will of the fans to placate the needs of 1/5 of the Sunday night viewing audience of WNBC, it has come to our attention that for so many years, America was so entrenched in the tradition of bad football at 1:00 on Thanksgiving but now that the Lions are good, we decided on another approach to keep this very time honored tradition alive with a brand new one.

So Happy Festivus Thanksgiving, football fans! May this November 12th be remembered as the night we had our nachos and wings piled high with a heap of football related hot runny dogshit!

Love,
The NFL

Ouch.

Tough loss but injuries to Lawrence and Kirk hurt more.  Early online reports are Lawrence may have "only" a sprained ankle and Kirk a groin injury.  Subject to more scans tomorrow.  Hoping for the best.

We can only wish, if Beathard is the QB for now, that he plays like Jake Browning for Cincy.  Guy was impressive for only his second start.  I read where he thought he was retired in 2021 until Cincy called him for the practice squad.  Coach even told him a white lie to build his confidence.  Quite a story.

Woof. Everbank Stadium continues to be the NFL's greatest slump-buster for visiting teams. Can't recall a game in a long time where the Oline was Charmin soft, the Dline pushed into Dade county, tackling like the opponents were greased pigs and coverage gaps so wide Chris Christie would have had 100 yards receiving... all at the same time. Guess it's been that long since KC, Texans and 49ers all came here. Throw in the laundry list of injuries and safe to say it's Wild Card at best for this team now.
