Park and King After 5 Street Festival

Metro Jacksonville is pleased to announce a street festival celebrating the King Street District in Jacksonville's Riverside neighborhood. Of course, since King Street isn't a commercial mall space that depends on attracting that Cheesecake Factory and Fuddruckers.

I think especially in this economy King Street shows why the overly-restrictive non-organic / artificial mall space concept will die eventually, there are too many hurdles vs. organically grown business and entertainment areas. But as long as we've decided we're going to make a go of the Landing, it really does need its dedicated parking. It's a bird of a different feather.

Most of the area residents will probably be walking/biking up there. So parking shouldn't be a huge issue. The only reason I've gotta bring my car is because I have to lug my armor bin with me (someone ordered Star Wars characters. ;) )

Well 2000 people live within a half mile radius of Park and King so that is a good start.

Will Pele's Fire bring their rolling Wood Fired Pizza Oven and set up? After all they are soon to be the marquis
player at that intersection.

Please don't muck up this thread with your thoughts on the Landing and commercial real estate site selection.

Please also refer to the article that First Guaranty Bank is granting access to their parking lot for the event.

Thank you.

If they can find a spot that complies with the restrictive transient vendor regulations, they are most certainly welcome.  I think they are supposed to be at Green Room Brewing on the night of the 30th however.

I am gonna try and get their a little early, or see if I can get trolley or bus service to the event, if I am going to be concerned with parking.

Oh, for heaven's sake people.  Lighten up.  It was a joke.  Hence the emoticon.

MJ posters sure are testy today (see 3 Layers thread).

This will be awesome. Have fun, y'all.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

This event is going to be great.  Just like the pub crawls, but with the freedom to crawl at your own speed and stay longer at your favorite bars.

The poster who claimed no free parking was flat out lying in order to make a cheap joke (that nobody got).  As it says in the flyer, there is FREE parking at First Guaranty bank.  The bank is right in the middle of the action so you won't have to walk more than 2 blocks to get to a bar from your car.  For the breweries on the north end, we've got some pedicabs to help out with the trip.

This is truly a ground breaking event for Park and King

That comment must have been deleted.  I don't see a post about free parking.

Excuse me, 'dedicated parking'.  I misspoke.  Regardless, the comment did nothing for this thread.

There will be FREE, DEDICATED, CONVENIENT parking at First Guaranty Bank on King Street for the event.

You should work on your reading comprehension skills before you go calling people liars.
