MJ's Ennis Davis Wins FPZA Outstanding Journalism Award
May 31, 2016 19 comments Print ArticleMetro Jacksonville is pleased to announce that co-founder Ennis Davis, AICP was recently nominated by the Florida Planning & Zoning Association (FPZA) for the association's 2016 Outstanding Journalist Award.
The Florida Planning and Zoning Association was established in 1951 to serve as a medium for interchange of information and furnish mutual assistance among those interested in planning and zoning in the State of Florida.
This award is based on Mr. Davis' continued dedication of being a reliable source of information in an effort to increase public awareness of planning related issues and topics impacting the future of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. A certified planner, Mr. Davis is a graduate of Florida A&M University with 15 years of professional experience in the fields of planning and architecture. In addition to Metro Jacksonville, Ennis is a co-founder of TransformJax, recently launched planning/city living website called Modern Cities, and a Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Commission board member.
The 64th annual FPZA Conference will be held on June 1st thru 3rd at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Jacksonville. Hosted by the First Coast Chapter of the FPZA,the three day statewide conference will include sessions on the Animating of Public Space, the City of Jacksonville's Parklet program, green building techniques, Southbank River Walk reconstruction, the City of Jacksonville mobility plan, local craft breweries and more. Mobile tours include the UNF LEED, St. Johns River taxi and Downtown historic walking tours.
