Jacksonville Symphony Expands UpTempo Program

Changes to the Jacksonville Symphony’s UpTempo program, designed to connect young professionals with an interest in symphonic music, have been announced for the upcoming season. Learn what's new, after the jump!

The new UpTempo membership is structured to provide increased access and flexibility for young professionals through a wide variety of experiences and events throughout the symphony’s season. The announcement was made by Jennifer Behr, Director of Patron Engagement for the Jacksonville Symphony.
The benefits of membership include invitations to Monthly Member Experiences, four UpTempo Concert Vouchers (including exclusive block seating), $25 tickets to all Symphony Concerts and discounts to Premier Symphony Events. Members will also be actively supporting the Symphony’s mission and will receive one year of the Symphony’s new Contributing Membership Benefits.
Monthly Member Events include:
•             September 30th, The Rite of Spring, Opening Night
•             October 1st, Bachtoberfest, Beer Garden
•             November TBA, UpTempo On Stage
•             December 4th, Hansel and Gretel, Pre-Concert Brunch
•             January 5th, Mozart and McGill, Symphony in 60
•             February 2nd, French Connection, Symphony in 60
•             February 25th, Second City’s Guide to the Symphony, Post-Concert Party
•             March 2nd, Haydn’s “Miracle” Symphony, Symphony in 60
•             March 17, The Chieftains
•             April 27th, Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique, Symphony in 60
•             May 20th, Mahler’s Resurrection, Elevated Post-Concert Dinner
Additional changes to the program include the formation of a steering committee which will assist in planning and hosting each of the membership events. This committee will include a membership chair and a host for each event.
“After the success of last year’s program, our members shared extremely thoughtful feedback that inspired us to offer membership benefits to include more frequent and diverse opportunities for the young professionals of the area to connect and enjoy the Symphony,” Director of Patron Engagement Jennifer Behr said. “With these improvements, we are one step closer to building the next generation of Symphony enthusiasts and supporters.”
