A mall for Florida's premier downtown in the works
September 10, 2015 40 comments Print ArticleWho says the age of the enclosed shopping mall is dead? Intended to break ground later this year, The Mall at Miami Worldcenter will challenge that notion.
Spanning more than 28 acres of downtown Miami, The Mall at Miami Worldcenter will feature 765,000 square feet of retail, destination restaurants, entertainment, along with Bloomingdale's and Macy's as anchors. In addition, the mixed-use development will include multiple residential towers featuring 1,500 luxury units, a 1,800-room Marriott Marquis Hotel and 600,000 square foot convention center. While it may be a little insane to expect a development like this in downtown Jacksonville any time soon, perhaps we'll get lucky and end up one day being a quick All Aboard Florida train ride away from this mega urban infill development.
