In 1917, the Dixie Highway was extended to the community. Now, classified as State Road 207, the corridor was recently expanded to four lanes.

The only traffic signal in Hastings is at the intersection of SR 207 and Main Street.

Remnants of the abandoned FEC rail line through Hastings. This rail corridor was originally constructed as the 22-mile St. Augustine and Palatka Railway in 1886. After Henry Flagler convinced his cousin Thomas Hastings to establish Prairie Garden, it became the conduit between Hastings and the outside world.
