Jacksonville – and Springfield – is now home to one of the most popular events sweeping the country. The second annual Jacksonville PorchFest, a music festival held on the welcoming front porches of Historic Springfield, will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 12 to 9. The family-friendly, free event will feature local and regional musicians from a variety of genres, over a dozen food trucks, craft beer garden, and artisan booths via Vagabond Flea.
Afternoon entertainment will include more than twenty performers on assorted porches in the Southwest quadrant of the Springfield Historic Distract, with a special evening concert in Klutho Park by New Orleans funk band Flow Tribe, presented by The Ritz Theater and SMG. PorchFest attendees will stroll from porch to porch and can “camp out” on front lawns and sidewalks as they enjoy live, local talent. Streets will be closed to car traffic as well, so bring your bikes and lawn chairs. Maps of porches and performers, all within a few blocks of eachother, will be provided at the at the corner of W. 3rd & Silver Streets.
PorchFest brings important attention to Springfield’s beautiful architecture, ongoing revitalization and highlights the breadth of musical talent here in Jacksonville. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to SPAR’s arts and cultural fund.
