This weekend, come see the transformation of Jacksonville’s oldest neighborhood first hand, at the 37th Annual Historic Springfield Tour of Homes (and Bike Tour)!

For 37 years, the Springfield Historic District has been showing off it’s unique character, architecture, and pedestrian friendly streetscapes through home tours. Once ground zero for Jacksonville’s poverty and blight, it’s now in the midst of a vibrant transformation, literally rising from the ashes to become a popular neighborhood for those seeking an eclectic, diverse, and semi-urban lifestyle. The 2015 edition of the tour highlights this transformation by featuring a diverse range of venues, from finished showpieces, to home renovations in progress.

You’ll find four original turn-of-the-century single family homes, one charming new construction, one grand Queen Anne just finishing up a full restoration, one gorgeous loft-style commercial renovation, and the Solomon Lodge, the former mansion of the storied Barnett Family. Along with these 8 venues, you’ll also find vintage home décor by Eco Relics and cold treats from Bold City Pops along the way.

And if you’d like an extended tour of the Historic District, the guided bicycle tour edition highlights all the venues on the Home Tour along with the characters, events, places, and architecture throughout the neighborhood that makes #SPR distinct.
