Peter Behringer, the Peter of local company Peterbrooke Chocolatier, will celebrate the opening of his new All Natural Candy Shoppe, Sweet Petes, this weekend.
Peter, a twenty year chocolatier and candy maker, has dreamed of opening his own candy shoppe for years. In addition to the fine chocolates that Peter is known for, Sweet Petes also features hand pulled taffies, hard candies, homemade marshmallows, caramels, assorted candies, gummies, lollipops in all shapes and old time ice cream treats.
Sweet Petes products contain no artificial flavors, colors or high fructose corn syrup. The company also offers gluten free, vegan and organic sweets.
Sweet Petes is the only sweet shoppe in the southeast to offer vegan sundaes and 18 flavors of organic cotton candy which is made to order.
Peter loves old houses and quickly saw potential in a 100 year old Victorian house in Springfield. Peter explains, The house had such unique features, I could look at it and see the candy shoppe I dreamed of coming to life.
