The Jacksonville Diversity Network has another dynamite line-up for you.

At the monthly event on August 27, JDN is proud to present Ms. Emily Lisska of the Jacksonville Historical Society.  This isn?t your father?s history; this is the juicy stuff they do not teach you in school.

Emily will be relating little known facts concerning some of Jacksonville most famous, infamous, and not so famous citizens.

You are not going to want to miss this.

Emily Lisska is one of the most amazing women, not to mention one of the most captivating speakers in the city of Jacksonville.

We should organize a metrojacksonville meet up for all us history buffs at this event.

I wish I could go.  Oh well, that's the curse of being a Jacksonville history buff who lives 600 miles away.  My next planned visit to Jacksonville isn't until September.  I'd be happy to meet Emily too, as I've only spoken to her over e-mail before.

If someone would be so kind as to post a summary of the best stories from this event it would be much appreciated!

If I didn't have Nationals on Labor Day, I'd cancel my rehearsals and go to this as well.  I know I'd have a blast!  Someone take notes for me! Cheesy

Sheclown, I group of us are going.  Im actually planning on going with Susan Eastman Cooper from Folio, and a few other fun people including Ryan Rummel from TSi.  Join us!

Hopefully the place will be packed with metrojacksonvillers!

Ock better be there, along with his lovely wife and family.

And I would hope to see Stjr and Mtrain and obviously BridgeTroll.  I certainly wish Heights Unknown could make it.

I wonder if you have to sneak the hooch in with a flask?

This was a fantastic evening!

Sorry, not to make it.  Events like this should be recorded and put on YouTube for all to enjoy and treasure.  Was that done here?
