There were actually people out showcasing the new Kurrent at Hemming Park yesterday during the Farmer's Market. This is awesome

Yeah, I've seen a blue one riding around the hood they're really odd looking, but probably fun to ride in. Basically, I think they're little more than a novelty.

what would make them less of a novelty and more integral?
Are they compatible with a greenway usage?

Probably not since they are street legal.
I think if they had a four seat model, they would be more viable for someone like myself.
Even with a 40 mile range, I live and work in the downtown area, and my eldest will be going to school in Durkeeville next year, so I am a prime candidate. Four seats makes it doable.

The city should offer parking meter and time limit immunity for low emissions vehicles.

40 miles? It is going to need a LOT more range than that to be commercial. After looking at the web site, I'm not all that impressed with this car. When it can do 70 mph and last 100 miles on a charge, four seat, road worthy, not just a neighborhood vehicle, then it will be viable.

It would be nice, if they came out with a bit larger one, for families...and of course, the city could then offer some kind of incentive too

all i can say is that for their sakes those things better not leave downtown streets...not with Jax's huge roads.

See gemcar.com for 4 seat and cargo models of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs) that are sold locally through Daimler Chrysler dealerships.

The concept sounds great, but with a max speed of 35mph, that pretty much rules out everything outside Downtown/Springfield. I couldn't exactly get on JTB with it and with the drivers in this town, I'd never put my kid in it with me.

Notnow, matt and ufrh4:
Per the articles being written about this car, it's not for you guys (unless you live in the downtown neighborhoods, and just like driving on Jax's sometimes clogged hwys for amusement). They have said it is for urban living, and driving from Springfield, san Marco, Riverside, and Avondale into and around downtown thru these other neighborhoods.
Anyone living and working in these areas has all they need within 40 miles, and via roads marked 35 mph or less. Now, if someone has to travel out of town, make sales calls to other areas of Jax, or needs to drive to more suburban pursuits, this car is not for them.
