lol.  no sadness at all.  I only question my sanity when I agree with River on anything besides etiquette and order of precedence.  (and occasionally the weather, although clearly not long term.)

I wonder how to inject a public advocate into these damned negotiations.

I understand... Smiley  Clearly there needs to be a ombudsman or rider advocate within JTA if they are serious aboit mass transit...

What is JTA's operating plan for Tropical Storm Fay? There doesn't seem to be any updates on their website about it.

JTA has a lot of information about hurricane preparation and procedures, how the storms are monitored, and the evacuation desicions are made, etc. on the Making Moves TV show on their website.  Its in episode #3.

Today, the bus system will close precipitously at 5 pm, unless wind gusts reach 35 miles per hour at which point it will immediately close.

Tomorrow the bus system will not be operating at all.

JTA buses will return to service Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. They will be running on what is normally the limited Sunday schedule.

Today begins the new schedule changes.

I predict lots of confused angry people through no fault of JTA today, just the general craziness that comes along with change.

Ill be at the bus station nice and early to see the circus however.

My prediction proved true.  There were angry frantic women everywhere at the bus station.

I couldnt even get through to customer information (630-3100) until after 1.

you obviously haven't ridden a bus lately apv. Lol.  My observation is the women are always more frantic.  The men are usually stoned or something.  Honestly, the women must have kids and thus want to be  more on schedule.

I tried the transportation system this week for the first time.

I like the Riverside trolley - I don't care if it's not on a rail. It had strong AC, and I only had to wait 6 minutes to catch it and get back to the Landing.

I caught a bus from the central depot to San Juan area also. I would prefer something that shoots straight down 95 and doesn't have to snake around downtown, but it didn't take long to get where I needed to be.

Don't really know how all the men handled the situation, pv.  Or all the women.

Perhaps the men were mumbling angrily under their voices while refusing to ask for directions.  Maybe they were stumbling around in a dumb fog unaware that anything had changed.  Maybe there was a group of desperados who explosively confronted JTA with spontaneous jeers and disdain.  Who knows?  I can't account for what happened the entire day, as I wasnt there for all of it.

However, I can report what happened when I WAS there. Which I did.

Have you ridden the bus lately?

The stellar service aboard the buses continues unabated.

The numbers have jumped however.
