Good Evening, Metro Jacksonville Participants!!
Allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Ashley Smith, and I am currently a Senior at the University of North Florida. I will be graduating this upcoming August with a Bachelors of Arts in English with a minor in Anthropology. I am thrilled to have been selected for the summer internship opportunity and will work hard to take advantage of every opportunity thrown my way. To help this process, I ask for your consistent offering of feedback, comments and critiques so that I may serve you better.
Some things I will be doing throughout the summer involve: Keeping the readers up to date about upcoming events and city meetings through Metro Jacksonville's Twitter account. I will, in time, take over and be accountable for Metro Jacksonville's live blog feed from Government meetings within the city: City Council meetings, Mayor's Office, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, etc. As well as, I will be working on a piece to submit at the end of the summer focused on a particular topic within the city. I hope you will let me know some of the topics that interest you.
Overall, I am here to learn more about our beloved city and be inspired by her wonderful citizens. Thank you Metro Jacksonville for this wonderful opportunity and thank you to the readers for your efforts to help. I look forward to all the summer has to offer.
