Same here. Checking Google News too. That's where I found the Yahoo story.

Nothing that I have seen or heard. I did find some soccer fansites from a few weeks ago saying the rumor is the game will be here. But nothing recent.

Sorry, but I don't have anything to add.  I might spend some time tonight checking the Chicago and Boston blogs to see if they've got any news.  I hope it's still going to be played here.

USMNT has the ability to call up any player, but they typically defer to European clubs (and player wishes) for long-distance travel for  smaller friendlies. Premiership finishes the season about two weeks before the anticipated US friendly date, freeing Dempsey, Howard, and co. providing rest periods are waived.  Bundesliga will be finished. Holden should be back from injury. In all, that gives us a decent shot at seeing the A squad if we land the match here in JAX (assuming Kinsmann doesn't save them for the Brazil friendly a few days later.)

I so want this match to happen here.

Jacksonville to host USA soccer match

Jacksonville will host an international friendly soccer match the weekend of Memorial Day.

According to Shad Khan's spokesman, the United States men’s soccer team will play Scotland at EverBank Field on Saturday, May 26th.

This will be the first warm-up match for the United States before FIFA World Cup qualifying begins in June.

Khan's spokesman tells WOKV the U.S. will bring its “A” team of international stars to Jacksonville – goaltender Tim Howard, midfielder Landon Donovan, forward Clint Dempsey and more.

Awesome!
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Friggin awesome. Hope we get to see our A team vs. Scotland's A team.  Should be a close game, but a win for us. They are a mid tier European team.

Hotels and restaurants in Jax are going to make a lot of money that weekend with Jazz Fest and this. Quite a few people will travel from out of town for the game. Especially since its a 3 day weekend and Jazz Fest will also be going on.
