I normally dont do this, but I had to chuckle. All the flack they gave us in 2009, makes these story lines funny. So the Bucs lowered the blackout threshold and still are having blackouts?  ;D

Even with reduced limit, Bucs’ first preseason game is blacked out

For the Buccaneers’ preseason home opener, the reduction in the minimum non-premium ticket sales from 100 percent to 85 percent means nothing.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs’ preseason home opener against the Titans will be blacked out locally.

The development also means that, even though it’s now significantly cheaper for the Bucs or their sponsors to buy the remaining tickets at 34 cents on the dollar, neither the Bucs nor any of their sponsors have written a check for however many tickets remained to get the team to 85 percent.

Of the team’s last 15 regular-season home games, 13 of them have been blacked out.  It’ll be interesting to see whether the Bucs or their sponsors come up with the extra money necessary to get the regular-season home games televised, given the lower threshold.

I never take any joy in a city suffering due to these stupid blackout rules.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

DD - Agree on the replacement (barf) reps. They suck! We had a fumble recovery in the first half and the idiot ref was right there and replays showed it a fumble,  but hey, they are replacements. Come on NFL, get it together and get the real guys back on the field! They need work too!

Great article on Mr. Khan and the MJD issue on Yahoo Sports, if you get a chance to read. Good win, nice to see Palmer "drive" the field at the end. Is Henne really that bad or has he just let Palmer show him up, twice now?

Don't forget about how their defender flat out attacked Chad Henne and there was not one flag thrown. So we actually deserved a little help to win the game if you ask me. And yes I heard Khan when he made the statement on last night. I think Yahoo mis quoted him a little, but its accurate for the most part. At this point, MJD did has not shown up because of pride. Its no longer about wanting more money. He is embarrassed. And the team winning without him makes it even worse. He'll be back before the season starts. Right now, he's just humiliated.

When I see Heath Evans, I am going to slap the royal shit outta him. What is his issue? I was watching a segment on nfl.com about gabberts development, and he was the only one trying to throw us under the bus! He was pretty much saying that the the regular season is going to be different than the preseason and that we need Mojo if we want to be sucessful. However, Kurt even told him. " youre not understanding what Im saying." Kurt was talking about how comfortable Gabbert looked and how physical  the team is playing. Im gonna kick Heath's ass!!

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — It didn’t matter if it was Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow at quarterback. The New York Jets could do little against the New York Giants’ relentless defense.

Sanchez finished 9 of 11 for 59 yards and the costly interception, but was under pressure on nearly every play. He was sacked three times, including twice by Jason Pierre-Paul. The Jets were without injured wide receivers Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens, and it showed.

Tebow came in to a mixed reaction - cheers from Jets fans and boos from the loads of Giants fans in attendance - and appeared to energize the team. But he had a shot at his first touchdown on second-and-20 from the 29 and short-hopped a pass to a wide-open Stephen Hill in the end zone. The Jets settled for Brown’s field goal that bounced off the right upright and over the crossbar to cut the deficit to 16-3 with 3:26 left in the third quarter.

Tebow was 4 of 5 for 52 yards on the drive, and had two runs for 5 yards. The former Nease High and University of Florida quarterback finished the game 5 of 14 for 69 yards.

Sounds like the Jets' O-line is worse than ours but, if they could, do you think the Jets would trade both Sanchez and Tebow for Gabbert?  I know it's only 2 preseason games so far but just wondering out loud.

DD - Where is Laurent Robinson? I checked the box score from Friday night, he had 0 catches, and only 1 for 7 yards in the game against the Giants. Is this guy a bust? Yeah, its preseason, but its still preseason. Any thoughts?

They didnt get him the ball much for some reason. He's been getting open, so im not sure. But I think he will be more invovled now that Blackmon is playing. Robinson was never a number one type guy. In dallas, he was a good option. defenders were so focused on Dallas's other receivers, which left him wide open most times. That is how the Jags are trying to utilize him with Blackmon. Defense's will be so foucsed on Blackmon, we could slip a quick one to Robinson

Whats amazing to me is, our first team offense ate the Giants and Saints defense alive. But they down play it an say "oh its just the preseason." You write this down, something special is getting ready to happen with this team and Jacksonville will be very happy very soon. With blackmon in the fold now, it was like magic Friday night. I knew he was going to be good, but not THIS good. He attacks the ball, does not drop and he can break away and pick up yards. Weve only had one WR who could do that the past 10 years, and that was only Jimmy Smith.

Blaine Gabbert's playing like the 10th pick in the draft should play. Two preseason games: 18 of 26, 174 yards, three touchdowns. Your magic spell is working, Mike Mularkey.

On the Colin Cloherty touchdown, he was being triple covered... That's why Colin was wide open

Has any noticed how boring the Falcons offense is now? I feel sorry for them. I watched the game last week and had bad memories of the old Jags offense. Draw plays and play action over and over and over again. Falcons fans are going to regret talking smack about Mularkey when they dont make the playoffs this year.
