I unfortunately won't be able to make it out there this evening.  So you can give my mugs to whoever you deem worthy.  Stupid family emergencies...

No draft beer at Walkers, but great 2 buck domestics. Also cups are running low, hurry if you want one!!!

I got a wine at Bella Sera and got a beer at Kickbacks (And bought a round for two others who were waiting in line with their mugs.)  Had a nice walk around the neighborhood.

Pretty crazy night, more like 100 little doorfront parties then an in street bash. If the fire baked pizza was any clue the new restaurant is going to be fantastic.

Yeah I was there with my whole family and weird as it might seem, didn't see a single person I knew.

Ock,  I was there too and had the same experience.  Sorry we missed you.  It was fun, but just too spread out to come across friends and generate "festival" atmosphere.

How was the street festival, btw?  I was unfortunately otherwise engaged (serious health issues for my mom, moving storage spaces, helping a friend get enrolled in an experimental treatment program to save his life, and of course getting ready to open the new office over at Park and King) and didnt get to go.

What were your observations of the festival?  Its our first one, and we can definitely use all the input you guys have to give!
And now abide faith, hope and love; these three, but the greatest of these is love

Good point, Dog Walker.  Other than the folks at the mug tent, I did not see anyone I knew either.  I would have been great to have been able to roam around with our fellow metrojacksonville.com folks.

Judging by the brevity with which we sold out of mugs, and the fact that this was the first time for an event like this, there's certainly room to grow. Don't be surprised if Park and King after 5 turns into a proper festival someday. That said, and like Stephen said, any feedback? Obviously more mugs, and a decent way to get to the breweries...more street action too...

Some of those bars/restaurants had their best day ever(Jacksons for sure- and hopefully if you didn't know about this place you grabbed some of their food and are now in love).

Had a good time... agree with the "too spread out" comments.  Lunican was taking pix... hope to see some posted soon.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I had high hopes for this event and was really excited after work Friday night.  What a let down!  To me "street festival atmosphere" is more than just a bunch of businesses loosely strung along the same street.  It is when you can walk in the street and not be constantly dodging cars or your keeping your kid from running out in the street.  And what exactly is "fun for the whole family" about sitting on a 6 foot wide sidewalk and drinking beer!?  For a bunch of people who claim to know so much about urbanism and what makes a city livable, the organizers fell way short.  All this event did was highlight to me that Park & King is really a bunch of loosely dispersed business with no cohesive identity.   If the street were walkable, you could have linked the dead areas (and there are plenty) with vendor tents and activities or something.  I know this was a first try but you all know better.
