Tuesday, 06 June 2006

A recenty completed study on the reactivation of Cecil Field as a naval base indicates a tremendous economic impact could be had by the Jacksonville area.  The University of West Florida's Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development completed a study in October 2005 that indicates that by 2011, Cecil Field would be responsible for over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs for a total payroll of $1.576 Billion, at an average salary of $50,095.  This is two and a half times higher that the Duval County per capita income of $20,753.  Below is a copy of the executive summary of the report.  Download a copy of the report here (requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader), then discuss your thoughts on the study on the Metro Jacksonville Discussion Boards.
