New signage for the Dive Bar. Hopefully this is the first of many more to come, especially on Bay Street. |

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
WoooHOOOO!!!!
I'm very happy to see more signage like this. Apparently the city was serious about turning that section of Bay St. into "E-Town". Now if they could only get the courthouse off of the riverfront and replace it with a nice mixed use development.

OMG
Sorry to get so giddy about a sign, but it is a vast improvment to what I'm used to seeing in the signage issue we seem to have Downtown.

That would be Koodos to Mark Hemphill, who owns both The Dive Bar and Mark's Downtown Lounge. A great guy with a great vision for his businesses. (No I don't work for him. :-|)Ha!

Are we sure it was approved? Maybe the city is on their way over now to rip it down?

Will Marks have a similar sign?

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
Wow... and I was just at Mark's last Thursday and Friday night and I didn't notice that. Well maybe they did it on Saturday though. Either way, I like it. I hope this type of signage continues down Bay Street.

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
Nicky G's Brick Oven Pizza will also have some form of illuminated signage when they open later this month or in September on Bay Street.

There's also another bar coming to Bay Street that will open next to Nicky G's.

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
It's about time someone along Bay St add this kind of signage to their establishment. This is great to see and let's hope it leads to more signage like this. Do we have Starbucks to thank for this?

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
Either Starbucks or the public's voice via these discussion forums.
I wonder if the downtown sign ordinance has been oficially revised?

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
this just shows the poor state that downtown is coming from, when we all get so excited about a sign being put up! You gotta start from somewhere right?!

Re: Is this Jacksonville?
Excellent sign! Hope it's one of many to come to the Bay Street entertainment district. Also, must give credit to the photographer, great shot the diagnal composition highlight the diamond shape of the sign. Very creative.

The sign ordinance was changed in 2003 to allow for these types of signs. It just took four years to let everyone know.
