The Cathedral District may be the urban core's most overlooked and forgotten pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Due to several years of neglect and the destruction of building fabric for surface parking lots, outside of parking for Jaguars games, there's not much reason to walk it on foot. Despite this, what remains are gridded streets, a centralized location, significant unique architecture and available land to convert this area into one of Jacksonville's premier urban addresses. |

The Springfield Heritage Throwback Baseball Game was held on May 5th in Klutho Park. It was put together over a series of months through the efforts of many Springfield residents. Originally, SPAR had intended to put on a softball game for the weekend event, and a group of residents thought to take it to the next level. Initially we were going to only play softball in the old time uniforms, but several people thought we could pull off a baseball game with vintage equipment as well. |

The extremely controversial and long delayed Dancey Terrace has finally opened a model home to the public. These twenty-four 1,000 square foot bungalows were slated for demolition, but were saved by half of the Springfield constituents (to the dismay of the other half). |

The Downtown Art Walk, which is held the first Wednesday of each month, had a strong turnout. Despite this strong showing, Tony Allegretti was expecting 50,000 people and a few celebrities, so he must be a little disappointed right now. Maybe next month... |
