Despite a slow down in Jacksonville's residential market, The Cesery Companies' Lofts on Main development is apparently moving forward. Originally proposed as a luxury condominium development, plans have been converted to rentals, allowing the project to provide short term housing for Shands Jacksonville patients.

Despite a slowing real estate market, the renaissance of Springfield continues.  Three Layers A Coffeehouse, is the latest element to Springfield's walkable neighborhood friendly retail atmosphere.

For years this building sat abandoned on the corner of Market and 11th Streets.  Now it has survived to find a new lease on life.

Three Layers Coffee House is planned to open in Springfield on the corner of Sixth & Liberty Streets in March of 2008.

Springfield's East 8th Street reconstruction project has been completed. This $5.1 million Better Jacksonville Plan project included new underground electric, water, and sewer as well as new traffic signals, street lighting, sidewalks, and road resurfacing. 

We've heard all of the negative stories, but there is positive activity taking place on or near Springfield's main commercial corridors.
