March 26, Thursday Night.
Club TSI.
Life's A Drag!
Outrageous Drag Comedian Karrissa Wade (One of the original Springfield Venue Pioneers and the original owner of Eden) hosts an over the top Stand up show in full Drag, featuring an unmentionable performance by the oldest living dragqueen in Captivity, Blossom. Simultaneously the club will be hosting an indoors skating expo on the TSI halfpipe and the evening will be Deejayed by Jonathan Berlin and Jared Bowser of the Sunbears (http://www.myspace.com/sunbearsmusic ).
The Sunbears will be leaving on tour very shortly with Black Kids, the local band whose album was listed as one of the top 50 releases internationally bt NME magazine (http://www.blackkidsmusic.com/) and Mates of State, and have all the indications of being about to break nationally.
In addition, Jared Bowser just finished his interview with Playboy magazine, a 3,000 word bit on his recent controversies in the landmark digital copyright case which placed the talented young musician on house arrest. (http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=512521). Already creating a good bit of buzz, this will be an unduplicatable experience. Lots of fun.
March 31st, Tuesday Night
Florida Theater

Metro Jacksonville is sponsoring a limited number of tickets to the LATheaterworks radioshow performance of War of the Worlds and The Lost World, science fiction classics by HG Wells and Arthur Conan Doyle respectively.
This is sheer steampunk wonderfulness as the stories were penned at the end of the Victorian Era and still exude all of the great story telling and sensibility of the age.
The performances are done in costume at microphone with all of dramatic interp and vocal skills of the 1930s era radio shows.
Contact Stephendare to be included on the Metro Jacksonville list for the performances. Wearing Victorian Era or steampunk costumes is totally encouraged and totally not necessary to get on our list.
This will be a brilliant setting (the Florida Theater is an old Movie Palace of the great era) and the performances are getting rave reviews across the country.
Tuesday, March 31 at 8 pm
Tickets- $38.50 and $28.50

April 09, 2009, 04:30:39 PMTonight the show is going to be pretty great at TSI.
The past two weeks were even busier than the first. Karissa Wade is being joined by two others, including a totally hilarious comedy chica named "Chiqui" who makes her own costumes and was recently on stage looking like the very embodiment of The Great Cabbage!
It should be a blast.
Hope to see you guys there.
